About the Summit

  • The Summit is a commitment under Heritage Ireland 2030, the national heritage strategy, which sets out an overarching framework for the management, protection and conservation of our heritage.
  • Every year, the Summit showcases successful heritage projects and actions under the plan that have been carried out within our communities and across government and society. It also provides a space for collaborating, sharing knowledge and for exploring the opportunities and challenges that face our heritage in a fast-changing world.
  • The theme of this year’s Summit is ‘Connecting Heritage and Youth’; over the course of this one-day event speakers and discussions will focus on initiatives that connect young people to heritage and that seek to understand what heritage means to them.
  • Information on past summits and on the Summit privacy statement can be accessed online on the dedicated Heritage Ireland 2030 Summit gov.ie webpage.
