Event Description
This one-day seminar is designed to provide participants with an understanding of how to use a strengths-based model to support transitions and positive beginnings. The seminar uses the Getting to Know Me tool from NCSE Relate to best effect in knowing and understanding the student in a way that will best support them as they transition through the school, making ‘Septembers’ as easy as possible. 

Anticipated Outcomes

This seminar will:

- Introduce the Getting to Know Me tool

- Emphasise a strengths-based approach

- Explore the difficulty around transitions and why this might be challenging for some students

- Workshop simple, practical strategies in which a strengths-based, relational approach can make transitions much easier for students. 

An NCSE Certificate of Attendance is available to participants.

Participants will require permission from their Board of Management to attend. Typically, substitution for this full-day professional learning experience will only be allowed to class and subject teachers and if it is deemed essential by the principal.
