EVENT INFORMATION
A 3-day webinar: The SCERTS Model, provides an introduction, explores program planning, and finally assessment. Creating learning environments to enhance active engagement with autistic and neurodivergent learners.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
This 3-day webinar will introduce the SCERTS® (Social Communication, Emotional Regulation, Transactional Support) model, a comprehensive, multidisciplinary educational approach. This developmental, relationship-based framework was designed to provide guidelines for all who interact with autistic and neurodivergent learners.
The first day of this workshop will begin with an introduction of the neurodevelopmental foundation of SCERTS, a discussion of the empirical evidence, and the core domains.
On our second day, the content will shift to writing outcomes and embedding support within natural learning environments to promote active engagement in learners who are not yet talking, at emerging language stages, and at conversational levels.
The focus of day 3 will be on administering the SCERTS Assessment Process (SAP). Although virtual, the format is interactive and participants will have the opportunity share ideas, ask questions, and learn from one another.
Day 1 - An Introduction: Using the SCERTS framework to create learning environments to enhance active engagement in autistic and neurodivergent learners
Day 2 – Program Planning: Using SCERTS in Action to embed supports within natural activities
Day 3 – Assessment: Using the SCERTS Assessment and SCERTS in Action to measure progress over time

2) sensitive to the unique needs of autistic students and students with social learning differences, and
3) can serve as a universal design for learning that benefits all of students and young children to promote positive long-term outcomes.
She lectures internationally and provides ongoing technical assistance to school systems and other agencies that care for children and their families.
An NCSE Certificate of Attendance is available to participants. Participants will require permission from their Board of Management to attend. Typically, substitution for this full-day professional learning experience will only be allowed: to class and subject teachers and if it is deemed essential by the principal.
