Overview
This webinar will provide an insightful session on practical approaches to planning for and carrying out the Applied Geography Project in the new Leaving Certificate Geography specification.

Learning Outcomes
The Applied Geography Project incorporates learning outcomes U4, U5, U6, U7, U8 and U9:
- U4 Formulate geographical questions
- U5 Plan and conduct geographical inquiries
- U6 Research geographical data and information using appropriate methodologies
- U7 Analyse and synthesise geographical data and information from a range of appropriate sources
- U8 Evaluate the effectiveness of geographical inquiries
- U9 Communicate geographical understandings, results, conclusions and recommendations effectively and ethically.

This webinar will provide:
- A clear overview of the Applied Geography Project
- Effective guidance on how to address the project brief and create a project plan
- Practical methodologies and techniques on gathering
- Information and data in different settings
- Guidance on completing the project and structuring the written report

Bio - Facilitator - Liam Maughan
Liam has been teaching Geography for over 25 years. He teaches geography in Coláiste Iognáid, Galway – a Jesuit-run city school known locally as “The Jes”. He is also an experienced Leaving Cert higher level geography examiner and co-author of Core, the new Leaving Cert Geography book for the new specification published by Gill. Originally from County Mayo, he lives in Athenry, Co. Galway.
