Included below is a summary of all CPD events for the upcoming week beginning 24th November 2025 aswell as some other highlights for November and December.

Here is a summary of some other great events/initiatives your school may be interested in: 

  • NCSE Events - Details of any upcoming NCSE Teacher Professional Training can be found here. To register for any of this training please click here.
  • Oide Events - Details of any upcoming Oide Teacher Professional Training and how to register can be found here.
  • Tus Maith: Transitions in Action 2025 / 2026 We are delighted to announce the return of Tús Maith: Transitions in Action – A Preschool to Primary School Project, which will recommence in January 2026. To support schools and early years settings interested in participating, an online information webinar took place on Thursday 27th November from 2:30–3:30pm. To register, for this project please click hereThis project aims to create a professional space for communication and collaboration between preschools and primary schools, building relationships between the two sectors to enhance the transition experience for children.
  • Carve, Create, Celebrate: A Christmas Lino Printing Workshop - Join us for a relaxed and joy-filled end-of-term celebration! Unwind with some festive nibbles, and discover the art of lino printing. Guided through each step, you’ll carve and create your own beautiful Christmas prints — perfect for cards, gift tags, or keepsakes. No experience needed — just bring your creativity (and maybe a few colleagues!) and let’s toast to the end of term in style. To register, please click here.
  • START (Schools Teaching Awareness of Randomised Trials) Competition 2025 / 2026 - this officially launched on 10th Nov 2025 for 2025/2026 and is open for registration. It is open to 4th, 5th and 6th class only. To register, please click hereFurther information can also be found in this Planning Guide and on the START Competition website.
  • Active School Flag Post Primary (ASFPP) 2025 / 2026 - this programme has now been developed to also include Post Primary schools. If you are interested in registering your school under the ASFPP, please join the ASF team at one of the upcoming information sessions on either 2nd Dec 2025 at 7pm or 3rd Dec 2025 at 4:30pm. Further information on the ASFPP can also be found on the website here
  • New History Teachers' Association of Ireland (HTAI) Branch for Ulster - there will be a new Ulster HTAI Branch officially launched in January 2026 - there are currently HTAI branches for Dublin, Galway, Kerry, North Munster and Waterford. If you are interested in helping to set up this new branch, please email historyteachers@gmail.comYou can also become a member of this new HTAI branch using this registration link.
  • Wainfest Children's Art Competition - Glenveagh National Park - competition open to all children and young people in Donegal, click here for further information. Closing date for entries is 7th Dec 2025.
  • Introduction to VEX Robotics - the information session provided by Dr Gary Cullen and John Conaghan from ATU Letterkenny on Wednesday 5th Nov 2025 was a great success. We will be sending some further communications to all Primary schools on this very soon.
  • National Write a Poem Competition - 2025 (Post Primary) - deadline for registration is 12th Dec 2025, click here for further information.
  • All-Island School History Competition - 2025 - deadline for registration is 5th Dec 2025, click here for further information.
  • Meet The Scientist Webinar Series 2025 / 2026 - these individual webinars are free and designed for kids in 4th, 5th and 6th class, click here for further information.
