Following on from the success of Tús Maith - Transitions in Action over the past three years, the Education Centre Directors in Mayo, Sligo, Donegal and Carrick-on-Shannon (covering Leitrim, Roscommon and Longford) are delighted to offer this innovative webinar series on the Transition from Preschool to Primary School.

Webinar 1: Wednesday May 7th, 7pm - 8.30pm

Facilitator: Clara Maria Fiorentini, MIE In this webinar, Clara will explore research-informed practical guidance for preschool educators / primary school teachers / school leaders, fundamental to supporting young children and parents as they navigate the transition process. Supports explored will provide opportunities for continuation of practice and the fostering of partnerships between preschools and primary schools. In this webinar, Clara will provide guidance on the use of the Mo Scéal templates and collaborative transfer of information between educators, parents and primary teachers throughout the transition process.

Webinar 2: Wednesday, May 14th - 7pm - 8.30pm

Facilitator: Fiona Giblin, DCU This second webinar of the series builds upon the various transition activities introduced in the first webinar by focusing on a whole school approach to implementation. With an emphasis on the leadership and management of highly effective practice in primary schools, Fiona will guide teachers/school leaders to develop a policy outline to include procedures and collaborative practices to facilitate and promote continuity and coherence in young children’s learning and experiences from preschool to primary.
