Weekly Bitesize Biodiversity Series (15 Minutes) - Atlantic Salmon

Weekly Bitesize Biodiversity Series (15 Minutes) - Atlantic Salmon What is Bitesize Biodiversity?
Bitesize Biodiversity is a growing community of educators that come together every Monday to learn about the wonders of Irish biodiversity. They meet at a weekly 15 minute online session run as a partnership between the ISSN, Education Support Centres Ireland, Green-Schools and Biodiversity in Schools available to all teachers in Ireland. The aim of this program is to provide teachers with education and fun facts on Irish flora and fauna. They examine one species at a time each week.

What are the benefits of the programme?
Beyond becoming part of a wider teaching community interested in biodiversity, everyone that attends is sent the PowerPoint presentation that includes information and activities that teachers can use to bring nature inside their classroom. They also receive a CPD certificate based on the number of sessions they attended at the end of a term. They also provide species-of-the-week announcements that double as daily prompts to help bring nature into your school.

Who is this programme for?
It is perfect for Primary and Secondary teachers and a valuable asset for subjects like wellbeing, CSPE, and SPHE. It is also a great resource for SNAs and Student teachers.
