EVENT INFORMATION

This is a 1-day seminar focussed on supporting students with Down Syndrome for Special Education Teachers and mainstream teachers at post–primary level.

Anticipated Outcomes

Participants will:
- Be aware of the nature, characteristics and co-occurring needs of students with Down Syndrome
- Explore the learning profile and needs of students with Down Syndrome Plan to support students at transition, with curricular and extra-curricular access and in preparation for independence and adult life
- Gain practical strategies and access resources specifically for students with Down Syndrome

An NCSE Certificate of Attendance is available to participants. Participants will require permission from their Board of Management to attend. Typically, substitution for this full-day professional learning experience will only be allowed: to class and subject teachers and if it is deemed essential by the principal.
